How does the service work?
Our automated system will call your loved one daily, based on the calling schedule you provide. If the system is unable to reach your loved one after a series of three back-to-back calls, or he or she indicates to our system that he or she needs help, the system will call you immediately to let you know what is happening, and will call several times until you acknowledge receiving the notification. The system can also notify an additional backup phone number, as well as sending out notification emails.

How many times will the system call my loved one?
If the first call cannot go through, or he or she does not press '1' to indicate he or she is OK, then the system will make 2 more calls before the notification procedure begins. If he or she presses '3', the notification procedure will begin immediately.
What will my loved one hear when answering the call?
After he or she answers the phone and says "Hello" the following message will play ... "Hi! This is your daily checkup call! If everything is ok, press 1. If you need help, press 3." You may also record a personalized greeting for them. Your loved one will then have to press '1', and the system will tell them "Thank you, good bye." If he or she presses '3', we will let them know we'll be calling you and also instruct them to dial 9-1-1 in case of a serious emergency.
How many times will the system call me?
If the system cannot reach your loved one after 3 calls, or he or she presses '3', the notification procedure will send out emails and call the 'Primary Phone' immediately. If the 'Primary Phone' is not answered, or the person answering does not press '1' to acknowledge the call, the 'Backup Phone' will be called. The system will then alternate between calling the 'Primary Phone' and the 'Backup Phone' for up to 1 hour until the notification call is acknowledged.
